Syöte is the kingdom of cross country skiing and the paradise of hikers. The Syöte area boasts breathtaking sceneries, a wide ski track network and well-maintained ski tracks in connection with the fell area as well as the National Park. The area boasts illuminated tracks for fitness skiers and wilderness routes for leisure skiers - altogether over 120 kilometres of ski tracks.

Along the routes you can find numerous cabins, lean-tos and huts for resting. After some packed lunch you can continue your journey for example to the Syöte Visitor Centre, which is a genuine meeting place for visitors and the starting point for many hiking routes. The Visitor Centre offers camping advice and licence service as well as introduces you to the Syöte National Park. In the Visitor Centre, you can enjoy a cup of coffee or have lunch if you have a bigger appetite. In Ahmavaara, the Ahmatupa wilderness coffee shop is at your service.
